Story to Stage: A Playwriting Workshop

Spend three hours immersed in learning how to bring a story to the stage.  We will focus on the ‘How to’ of going about writing a play, with specific attention being paid to the ——“Heart of a character:  How to write a monologue.”  And the “Heart of the play:  the Emotional impact of a scene.”  Please come join us as we talk writing, Shakespeare, and the love of the stage.

Shawn Deal is a local playwright, creative writing/theater arts teacher, producer, director and actor.  Since 2016, he has had 17 different productions of his plays performed across the West Coast.  In that time, his plays have won 8 awards in various competitions and festivals.  His fifth published play Senior Year Ghost Story, comes out this August.
