RIC’S OPEN MIC IN ASTORIA
Ric Vrana was a local poet who founded an Astoria-based open-mic night in 2014. Writers mourned Ric’s 2016 death and memorialized him by changing the name of his event to Ric’s Poetry Mic. We celebrate Ric’s efforts to unite writers by attending and performing at Ric’s Poetry Mic. All writing forms (poetry, prose, experimental, and everything in between) are welcome. While we are passionate supporters of Ric’s Poetry Mic, we are not the hosts, but a Guild board member attends every meeting, and we look forward to hearing your work!
